Zetland with the Cleveland Point to Point which was held last Sunday 2nd May.
Even though it was held behind closed doors for participants only, there was a good atmosphere and nearly 60 runners.Stuart Gibbon had done a brilliant job watering the course to provide good going with horses coming from Scotland, the north west area and the midlands.
The lay out was slightly different with everything being organised below the wall, paddock, horses box parking etc,. No tents , trailers for the decs team, scales, and secretary. The way forward for next year!
More importantly, It also marked the end of an era as Susan Town who has been the secretary for 21 years (1995 -21). A terrific stint for which the Zetland point to Point Hunt Committee and the Hunt are extremely grateful. A great organiser, Rain or shine Susan was always there with a smile to ensure all ran smoothly.
The first race was kindly sponsored by Todds Highways
Here are the results. John Dawson was leading rider. There was a good write up in the D&S today
